To me, scholarship means becoming a more educated citizen. Being an educated person is a very good thing. It can get you through many situations, both good and bad. Being an educated citizen is important because the more that you know about history and current happenings, the better you can make decisions. One does not want to make uneducated decisions because that could lead you to unwanted situations. However, one does want to make the most educated decisions as possible because the more educated you are the better you can make decisions based on the knowledge you have.
