Scholarship

The way that Longwood approaches education is what I would consider a perfect match for myself. I so greatly value that I am able to personally interact with my professors on a daily basis. Many of them have a desire to understand their students and how to help them which is something that bigger universities lack. I feel as though my school wants me to succeed and does everything it can to make sure I reach my goals.

I was challenged much more in my first year of college than in any of my other years of schooling, and it took some major adjustments and habit changes in order to become acclimated to college-level education. Although it was hard work, I felt so proud at the end of my Freshman year when I found out I had a 3.4 and had made the changes necessary to be successful.

I owe my success to the encouragement I received from peers and faculty to ask questions and ask for help when I needed it.
