I joined the Office of Sustainability as an Eco-Representative in the spring of 2019, because I am very passionate about the environment and care a great deal about Longwood. Working in this job now for about two years has allowed me to have a very active role in my school’s sustainability, something I consider very important and appreciate. I help set up panels, plan events, make sure our internet presence is active and up to date, and much more. Beyond that, I have met like minded people who I get along with great. Overall, I love working here and the community I have found makes me feel at home. Being able to make a difference at my school and make positive changes to Longwood’s environment has been an amazing opportunity.

Epsilon Eta

I am also a senior member of Epsilon Eta, an environmental fraternity here on Longwood’s campus. In this fraternity, we are constantly looking for ways to build connections with our community and better the environment. Recently, we partnered with High Bridge Park Rangers and did a clean up of the trail, which was so much fun! Our fraternity is committed to promoting sustainability on and off campus, and is always ready to educate and encourage others to join the fight to preserve this beautiful planet.

Chi Alpha

Chi Alpha is a non-denominational Christian youth group on campus that opens its arms to all. The community within this group is absolutely amazing, and I am so thankful that I was able to find this group as a freshman, and continue to go to this day. This youth group is not just about God and Christianity. The people in this group are all genuinely good people who work to lift each other up and support each other. This youth group has been my home away from home, and definitely made the adjustment to college life easier. Seeing the same friendly faces every week and having discussions, listening to Pastor Jenny, and being a part of a community that really loves each other has made an amazing impact on my college experience, and continues to do so. I know with this group if I am ever going through a hard time or need a helping hand, or just someone to talk to, any one of them will reach out and help me, and that has made all the difference in the world to me.
