HON: US Hist 1877 – Modern Times
In this pillar requirement course, we went more into depth about the many different views behind the events we learned about. One of the first lessons we went over were the different types of sources. We were assigned a variety of sources to read before every class that covered multiple sides of a given historical event. Then, at least once a week, we’d have a discussion on those readings. If there’s one thing I took away from this class, it’s the importance of knowing the sourcing information and how that can impact the message behind the content.
