Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Self,

I hope that at this point you are ready or close to being ready for medical school. Have you gotten in to your number one choice or is it three or four? Should you have studied or prepared more for your exams or MCATs? What is it like knowing that you’ve been in school for seventeen years and you are still not finished? Is it daunting or are you excited?  Your newest adventure is about to begin. A whole new chapter is beginning, who are you bringing with you? I hope you keep in touch with your friends from college while you are in medical school. You will convince yourself that now is not the right time, but you need to do it before years pass and you realize you haven’t spoken since graduation.

I hope you are in a healthy and flourishing relationship.  Where is Kacy going to school this year? Is she in-state or in Florida as she always claimed she would be, or is she even in college this year? I hope you two are as close as we are now. It might take a couple of days to catch up or to get back in sync but I hope you are two peas in a pod like you were in high school.

What have you accomplished while at Longwood? Are you graduating with honors and with the Life Stem program, as planned?  Have you stayed on track or have you strayed a little as someone always feared? Is Spanish as big a part of your life as you thought? What leadership roles did you participate in? I hope you were president of a club but I also know the anxiety that would bring alongside of it. Maybe secretary or treasurer is a more realistic goal. I hope that you have made the most out of the opportunities that have come your way and I hope you have had an amazing college adventure.
