Pillar III: Community

A community is more than just a group of people who happen to be in close proximity. It is a family of interconnect people who choose to care for and love one another. I am fortunate to bSedere a part of many different communities including the Spanish Club, G.R.O.W.T.H.E., alumni of TSA, and Intervarsity bible study.  Most recently, I became a member of the Cormier Honors College and greater Longwood community where we look out for one another and strive to truly understand each individual for the brilliant and inspiring person they are. We come together over HSA meetings, service retreats, and special occasions. I had the great pleasure to attend a Seder with members of my honors and Longwood family and celebrate the culture of my Jewish friends. When communities come together over our similarities which bind us together and celebrate our shining individuality, there is no obstacle or difference which can tear us apart. This is the power of a community that stands together. It is a phenomenon that seems to come naturally to Longwood and I am genuinely humbled to be a part of it.
