I fulfilled my Aesthetic Expressions Pillar requirement with THEA 101, taught by Professor Stephanie Howieson. As a fan of the arts and the world of theatre, I thoroughly enjoyed this class and was engaged each class period.
For this class, we got to experience Longwood Theatre Department productions (Translationsand No Exit), which we were prompted to reflect on and apply course content to as we turned in essays for each production. We also looked outward nationally with a research-based presentation project centered around regional theatre companies across America. Our final project was my favorite – we wrote and performed children’s plays for our class as part of our final exam. I enjoyed working and collaborating with others in a creative and artistic platform, and I appreciated the lighthearted approach to a stressful finals period.
