The Anthem Grant Committee is seeking proposals for the Practicum Grant Award program. The mission of the grant is to encourage and support the engagement of Longwood University faculty and students with the Southside Virginia community.
The committee is seeking proposals from any Longwood University College of Education, Health, and Human Services faculty who are actively engaged in, or are planning, a project to develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs for the Southside Virginia community. In particular, the grant seeks to support programs that address gaps in service provision for underserved and/or economically underdeveloped communities throughout the Southside region.
The use of the funds may include, but are not limited to, the purchasing of necessary supplies, materials, and equipment, as well as stipends for the faculty and students who will be directing and actively participating in the efforts for successful implementation of health promotion programs. Please note, the use of stipends is ultimately determined by the Longwood Foundation. Funds are available after July 1st for the 2024-2025 academic year and must be used by the end of the fiscal year.
In an effort to review and potentially fund a broader range of projects, the Anthem Grant Committee has two (2) routes available for proposed projects to be reviewed for funding.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, up to $25,000 may be awarded to projects that meet the spirit of the Anthem grant. Projects may be funded partially or fully based on the committee’s discretion.
