Freshman year, spring 2020: Exercise is medicine (KINS)<\/p>\n
Throughout this class, I was able to seek\u00a0to examine the effect of physical activity on the maintenance of health and prevention and management of diseases by understanding the relationship between individuals, social structure, and exercise behaviors.<\/span><\/p>\n Also, throughout this\u00a0course, I was able to develop an understanding of how social institutions and cultural norms affect patterns and trends in physical activity. I was also able to learn from different topics on how to emphasize past and current issues in national government policies and recommendations, environmental influences, socioeconomic status, racial disparities, age\/gender considerations, social influence, and personal bias.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Overall, I honestly appreciate this class because I believe that it thought me a valuable lesson about caring for others’ health as well as ourselves.\u00a0 Also, exercise is a form of medicine because\u00a0exercising\u00a0on a regular basis provides physiological benefits that are often as effective, or even more effective than pharmaceutical interventions. Many diseases can be prevented and even treated with regular exercise.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The following is a final case study on\u00a0Cardiorespiratory & Musculoskeletal Exercise Intervention.<\/span><\/p>\n
