I completed my study abroad trip in the United Kingdom, while studying the Sociology of Sport in the U.K. For the course, I completed 10 article reviews upon leaving, where I read articles related to different aspects of the course, and responded to them. The trip itself was only 2 weeks long, but jam-packed with activities and one of my favorite experiences in my college years. I got to experience London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland with two of my teammates from the women’s soccer team, and made many more friendships throughout the trip. We did a lot of activities relating to sport in the U.K., as well as many other more tourist activities, but some of my favorites included cricket, watching Arsenal vs. Chelsea, track cycling, the Highland Games, climbing Arthur’s Seat, and Rock Climbing (and ALL of the Harry Potter tours!). Here is my final exam for the course, including the question “what makes a sport a sport in the UK?”, which Dr. Milne nagged us about the whole trip, and nobody could find the correct answer.
