Welcome to my life
“My name is Allison and I like to talk.” That is how I proudly introduced myself at school in the second grade, much to everyone’s dismay. But the funny thing is, it still applies to this day, only now I can add that I’m a Communication Studies major who wants to be a broadcast journalist. So basically, I want to write and talk for the rest of my life.
I grew up in Potomac Falls, Virginia adoring the stage and being in front of people. That is where I truly felt at home; that, and with a pencil in my hand and paper on a desk with my ideas pouring out of me. It was no surprise to my parents that upon entering college I would find a career that has me doing these things every day.
I began classes at Longwood University in the fall of 2017, and am on track to graduate with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies in December 2020. Through various online publications and leadership roles I have held on campus, I am confident that I will make a great addition to a news organization come graduation.
Until then, I am actively involved in organizations such as Alpha Gamma Delta, Blue Heat Dance Team, Odyssey Online and the Public Relations Student Society of America. You can either find me running on campus between classes or in an editing suite finishing a package, doing what I love.
