There are many different ways to handle students that may be causing a disruption in the classroom.
The methods that I use most frequently would be:
- Proximity enforcing- which is when you walk near the student while you are still teaching and they are more than likely going to stop when you get closer to them.
- engaging them in the class: if you see a student may be drifting off or not paying attention try to include them in the lesson more by either verbally asking them questions or having them demonstrate the activity for the class.
