Goal 1

Goal 1: Longwood Seminar (LSEM 100)

Longwood Seminar was a vital course in my transition from high school to college. I learned about the University’s history and traditions as well as useful information about college courses. Since it was an Honors-specific course, I learned more about the Cormier Honors College as well.

Our assigned reading for the class, The Other Wes MooreOne Name, Two Fates, reflected the general topics of the class. In my reflection of the reading, I discussed how the demonstrated qualities of responsibility, self-sufficiency, and citizen leadership are important factors of educational success.  Throughout the class, these qualities were tested through time management, self presentation, and community service. I believe that this class prepared me for the standards of college classes and introduced me to Longwood. However, I wish that we were able to receive more information about our individual majors, as other Longwood students receive through a major-specific LSEM class.
